This portion of the hike is from Murrell Park to Twin Coves Park. There are several trailheads along the North Shore Trail, including at: Rockledge Park, Murrell Park, MADD Shelter, and Twin Coves Park. This is a single-track trail. It meanders along the shoreline of Lake Grapevine and sometimes goes through thick hardwood forest. Wildlife viewing opportunities include fox, deer, rabbit and abundant waterfowl and birding year round.
Longer than normal hike for me. Started off at 11:30 area and finished around 7:20 PM. I missed a huge section of the trail mileage due to PWR drop. I am missing about 8 miles, which would make this hike 16.83 miles. Note: 2 Motorized vehicles were seen on the trail today.
WARNING!!! Absolutely freezing, please be familiar with alpine skiing/backcountry conditions, but other then that, FA! Get some!
This was a hike I did with my gauge tee on Father’s Day. We had a great time hiking, exploring and talking. It was a great time!
I’m grateful to find any safe dirt trail in an urban area. Northshore trail is a gem. Murrell park to MAAD hut is not the most majestic section, but it’s still a fine option
I liked it but the trail was personally too hard. Im a beginner so yeah. But definitely an adventuress trail!
