This trail is popular with bikers. This portion of the hike is from MADD Shelter to Murrell Park trailhead and back. There are several trailheads along the North Shore Trail, including at: Rockledge Park, Murrell Park, MADD Shelter, and Twin Coves Park. This is a single-track trail. It meanders along the shoreline of Lake Grapevine and sometimes goes through thick hardwood forest. Wildlife viewing opportunities include fox, deer, rabbit and abundant waterfowl and birding year round.
A great first long walk. There are a few muddy spots and one area has small, shattered glass so watch the dogs paws or your tires.
Started from the MADD Shelter and went North. This is a much more rugged trail and less bike traffic. The scenic views were awesome and there seemed to be more wildlife.
Awesome ride. Watch for pedestrians on trail. Always let them know you are passing for a safe ride. great way to get your exercise in for the day!
North Shore Teail, Lake Grapevine, 3.5 miles. Lots of bikers, one way traffic, one big loop. Narrow pathways. Mark and Sherri joined us.
