Mura Trail is in the Dogwood Canyon primitive camping area of the Lake Ray Roberts State Park Johnson Branch off of FM3002 outside Valley View, Texas. The trail is intended to be an access trail for the 50 or so walk in primitive camp sites in the Dogwood Canyon area. The trail is a natural surface single track that can be an out and back trip or can be extended by taking the loops that go into the individual primitive camping areas. The trail is in good condition and is shared with mountain bikers. Scenery is beautiful in the area and it is important to note that several nesting pairs of Bald Eagles use the area year-round.

Nothing exciting; hardly any lake views. Easy for bikes and strollers. More a walk than a hike.

It’s not marked as the Mura Trail and the service policeman who has worked there 18 years had never heard it called that. It is a fully paved trail that goes past a lot of trailer sites. It starts at the end of the parking lot to the left. The trail pleasant enough — nothing special — and probably would be best for parents with kids to ride their bikes or rude in strollers. Oh! They do loan bikes for free during the day! It was all flat, and just long enough for out-of-shape me.

Pretty good trail. It's well maintained and easy to follow. There is not much crisscrossing. We saw views of the lake at times. We only saw 4 bikers the 2.5 hours we were there.

A very easy walk that starts next to the lake then winds away from it although there are many small side trail leading back to the water. I brought my dog unleashed and other hikers did not mind.
