Nice desert hike. No shade. As others mentioned, spring is not much to see.

HikingGreat!

Lots of sun! Some loose gravel along the way, not too steep of elevation. The little spring at the end is underwhelming but was still a great hike!

No shade and the sun is hotter than you think it is. Loose rock so prepare to slide a bit. Also don’t expect a big water feature at the end. It’s a little spring! Really awesome hike and not terribly challenging if you are ok with some elevation gains.

Decent hike through the Desert but the “spring” at the end was a massive disappointment. There’s a bunch of dense vegetation but not much water to see.

Trail gives a few different cool views of the Mule Ears rock formation. Go beyond the spring for some of the best views.

Nice relaxing hike. The spring is cool and has lots of frogs and ferns. Watch out for the bees though.

It is a short hike with an interesting spring and a stone corral at the end. Some view of the mountains along the way.

Very serene desert hike. Many different types of cacti, great Mountain Views in the distance and up close to Trapp Mountain and not far from Mule Ears Peak. The spring isn’t as cold as you’d think, even in January. Saw about 7 other groups of two hikers on a Tuesday afternoon.

Great views but def bring lots of water & gear to protect you from the sun. Perfect during winter time but would be brutal around hotter months...

Lot of fun. Probably should have kept going beyond the spring, though. No good view of the Mule Ears from the spring. Even in December, it was hot and sunny. Not flat either.

HikingGreat!

Beautiful views. Go early, trail is exposed to sun. We did this during the week of Thanksgiving and by the time we got off the trail the parking lot was full which is another reason to go early. You can’t pass up these views. The hardest part of the hike is coming back, most of it is uphill. Get your camera ready for some scenic pics.

This is a good off the road trail, but this trail is all about the journey and not the destination.
