When I hiked this trail it was a little damp. Very slippery and steep because of all the rocks. Also a little buddy but not too bad. There is multiple ways to get up the mountain. I went with some friends and we all kinda went at our own pace therefore took different little routes that but they meet up multiple times. Huge rock pile at the very top. You can walk past the rock pile for a huge open view. On the way down I walked along the cliff side for the views. But at some point 1/3 of the way down it got super steep and knarly. You can see on my map all the left and right I did to get down. I recommend making your way to the left as you get closer to the bottom of the mountain because the right side is steep with very little options. I enjoyed it but it was difficult.

An absolute must. Try to go around sunset for the best views obviously, but be careful that the trail can get difficult to follow on the way down, especially in the dark. If you do get lost, a few social trails will shortcut you down to the road, though they are rather steep and dangerous.

Steep little trail, came at it from the Bridges and Foshee Trail making the summit a nice 3&1/2 mile trip. Great view over the cliff side of the Frio River. Coming back down, lost the trail and came barreling down (literally) through someone’s camp site out a steep wash out. Found the actual trail head 1/10th of a mile north.

Definitely a difficult trail but worth it. We did it round trip in 63 minutes and ate lunch at the top- which is that mountain that looks like someone sliced off half of it. Totally worth the effort.

Good incline and some scrambling in areas if you choose to climb that way. Not the best hike for small children but doable if you can give them a lift here and there. Beautiful views, be sure to go all the way to the far side at the top

Uphill with a few flat spots. There is a cave off of the trail that you can get to. Go past the Danger sign and over a boulder to find this hidden gem.

Awesome trip. Watch the clay mud. Great view and push to the cairn. Don’t forget your rock from the bottom to place on the top.

Hiked 5/15/2019. Some large rocks to navigate at the bottom end and steep all the way up so you have to take your time, but totally worth the view. Recommend taking it in the morning before the heat.

Hiked it 3/16/2019 and the weather was perfect. Would definitely be tougher in the Texas summer heat. Some climbing; saw lots of children and scout groups having a great time. We moved carefully and slowly and it took our group about 1:45 to complete the hike, including some time spent sitting at the top admiring the views.

This was a fun trail with a pretty view at the top of the hill. The hike is moderately steep, but is short. It can be completed quickly and leaves plenty of time to explore the other trails (and caves) in the area. This trail is dog-friendly.

A couple buddies and I started out on this trail before daylight. We got about halfway up and at one point saw a sign that said “falling rocks” (i think is what it said) and walked to the left of that sign, following what I thought was the trail. This ended up being the wrong way and we ended up walking along the front face of Baldie and having to turn around and find our way back up. The trail isn’t clearly marked at our point of error because of a washout. We should’ve turned right at that sign. Once we got to the top it was all worth it. Make sure you grab a small rock before starting the trail so that you can add it to the ever growing pile at the summit.
