Memorial Park Purple and Green Loop is a 4.7 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Houston, Texas that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and bird watching.
One of the trails (not sure if it’s purple or green) is currently closed for construction. Other one was nice.
Nice and unpaved! The construction going on out a big damper on the trail, but I’m excited to go back when the construction is done.
Great shaded trails! Definitely got a little lost/stuck trying to get back to the parking lot/trail head due to the closures
A flatlander's dream! Beautiful views of the river and mostly shaded too.
mountain biking today. a few wet spots but you could ride around them. construction still has a few dead ends, but great ride.
great ride. no mud, a few people. getting use to the dead ends due to construction. lots of roots on the east side make the ride challenging.
Due to construction, not all of the trails provide round trip options. So I combined most of the purple trail plus a round trip on the running trail to get my 10000 steps in. Lots of people out enjoying the cool stretch of weather. Bikers by the main part were courteous.
great trails right in the middle of Houston. Construction has created a few dead ends, but good signage so you know what you are getting into. With the construction, it appears that the forest is starting to encroach on what used to be wider trails... maybe a little less use, but quite a few people out today.
The map really helped. Got turned around a few times.. great hike. I really enjoyed it. There were bikers but you could hear them coming. You just need to be careful..
Tougher than it looks from the ground. The elevation will get you if not prepared. Unparalleled views from the top. Lots of room to move around.
Decent hiking trail through the woods of Memorial Park. This trail definitely favors mountain bikers so hikers pay attention! No ear buds on this hike.
Great trail! Nice and shaded. Would however recommend bringing a lot of water. This map really helped too as the signage can be a little confusing at times. As it is a combination of 2 trails, you have to walk across a parking lot that isn’t as shaded. Overall great fun, highly recommend.
The green loop is a lot better than the purple, more up and downs. However, watch out for bikes, they’ll run you down.
