I love this trail. It’s short and easy. It does flood often, but I always wear my big waterproof boots, so the water doesn’t bother me. Plenty of animal tracks, snakes, birds, etc. Neat little meditation area. Only bad thing is it gets quite muddy. But, it looks like park workers come out and clean it off every so often. This is definitely a nice, peaceful, little dirt packed trail to explore.

this is a nice trail but it's in a flood plane. so this trail will be muddy and have standing water on the trail for weeks after a heavy rainy season. it's a little short with the amount of land available for them to use. maybe they will add more trails in the future. As to the trail itself, its nicely maintained for a primative hard pac dirt trail. During my visit I was only able to finish half of it. the other half was to muddy with ankle deep water that made the it impossible to go around. McKinney had a several severe storms pass through the area causing several trees to fall across the trail. The last part of trail will take weeks to over month without every rain to dry out. the first is dryish with small pockets of mud. There are no trail markers at the intersections but the trails either dead end or loop into the main loop. I plan to walk this trail on days I cant get out of town to do some hiking.

This trail is perfect for dog walking. It’s just over a mile with smooth terrain, but not paved. Be careful through - let it dry out for at least a week after it rains. Most of it dried out, but the last 100 yards was sticky mud.
