Longhorn Trail is a 1.2 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Mathis, Texas that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
December 13, 2020The start point of the trail is not directly connected to the camping site/picnic area. So we have to walk along the car road. The CCC pavilion and the lake view at the goal are good rewards for finishing the trail.
November 13, 2020All trails does not show the Kissable trail officially but is on the map if you look. Just cut through the "Birds nest" and loop back on the "official" leg of the Longhorn trail.
November 1, 2020Easy, simple trail. Passes by the bird watching area that has a Javelina enclosure. Ends at the Old Park Pavilion, great views.
