It was a cool place to stop. It is not really a state park. It is privately owned and ran by the state park system. I wasn’t super impressed with the tour guide. She made very strange jokes that no one knew how to react to. But it was still pretty cool and had a fun history.

Took the trail after a tour of the cavern. the trail is marked but incorrectly. So incorrectly, it meant we were, per the signs, directed to the roadway while missing over half the trail. Thinking it was odd, we turned around in the area and noticed another trail sign. The sign was actually not correctly placed and we got back onto the trail by way of a wrongly marked trail.

After going on the guided cavern tour, we combined Backbone Ridge, Warbler Walk, Karst and Wildflower trails with a side trip to the observation tower for 1.54 miles. So with the 1.25 miles in the cave, we totaled out at 2.79 miles. An easy hike, but the Bluebonnets, Yucca blooms and a gorgeous blooming cactus made this a beautiful hike.

There's not much of a hike here at all, the main attraction is the Longhorn cavern tour. A peaceful walk through a wooded area and some historical buildings which is nice after the cavern tour but pretty underwhelming. I recommend going to Inks Lake State Park instead for better hiking and scenery which is very close by.

My family and I loved the cave. Would have given it a 5 star rating but admission to the caves were a bit expensive. Definitely worth the trip!

We enjoyed the caverns a lot. Loved the history of this particular one, thought it was very interesting and beautiful. We also did the trail above ground. It was an easy trail with some interesting scenery. Parts of it reminded my husband and I of a planet used in one of the Star Wars movies.

This was a fun hike with my husband and three young boys. Well marked and pretty easy for the little ones. We loved the lookout Tower. There is a cavern that is run by a private company that you can pay to hike but we just hiked the small loop trail.

Short well marked trail of crushed granite. The lookout was cool. 3 story's tall. The CCC buildings, stairs and entrances were awesome. The old photos of cave where fun to look at.

Easy walk, heavily shaded trail. Cool rock features throughout the hike. Saw butterflies, birds, bees, and snakes. Climb the observation tower and gaze for miles towards Inks Lake and open farmland. You can also do a 1.5m guided tour (1.5 hours) into the caverns. It was a great way to cool down after the short hike. Definitely recommend you take the time to visit the caverns in addition to the trail.

Family friendly cavern tour. Took a backpack carrier for my 15 month old. She did great on the 1.5 mile tour.

Got lost... but, it was kinda fun! (Not unsafe lost, a few miles of trail that was not clearly marked, keep looping back. We knew we would eventually pop out near the main parking, so no biggie)

If you are into caverns, this one is pretty standard. It has a few nice features. It takes 1.5 hours to tour the cavern, and tours tend to end around 4p.m. It's worth a view if you've never seen it. Not a workout.
