Short hike with an interpretive trail and a slightly rocky trail. Traffic is pretty heavy in the rocky part. Good sunlight refresh after the cave tour.

The trail wasn’t very long but it was very fun! They also have a cave you can tour, our guide was pretty cool! If you have time I recommend going to their scenic view 100%!

Trails are very pretty but also very short. Beware of current park host- rude with no respect for families and crude in front of children.

Very family friendly trail. I wouldn't call it hiking, it was more of just walking around the premise. I think this is a great cavern to tour if you haven't been to many caverns. I shouldn't compare but it was a bit underwhelming to me after visiting Carlsbad Caverns, but my friend who has never been to caverns had a great time. Still amazing that a place like this is so accessible from central TX.

Nature trips

Really cool nature trail, well maintained and marked with appropriate signage for various wildlife. Several off chutes so follow signs and enjoy!

Found it to be a super easy & well marked trail, we combined all the trails together & finished at the observatory within the hour before our cavern tour started. Really enjoyed to cavern tour as well, we had a great guide!

It was a cool place to stop. It is not really a state park. It is privately owned and ran by the state park system. I wasn’t super impressed with the tour guide. She made very strange jokes that no one knew how to react to. But it was still pretty cool and had a fun history.

Hiking

There's not much of a hike here at all, the main attraction is the Longhorn cavern tour. A peaceful walk through a wooded area and some historical buildings which is nice after the cavern tour but pretty underwhelming. I recommend going to Inks Lake State Park instead for better hiking and scenery which is very close by.

My family and I loved the cave. Would have given it a 5 star rating but admission to the caves were a bit expensive. Definitely worth the trip!

We enjoyed the caverns a lot. Loved the history of this particular one, thought it was very interesting and beautiful. We also did the trail above ground. It was an easy trail with some interesting scenery. Parts of it reminded my husband and I of a planet used in one of the Star Wars movies.

This was a fun hike with my husband and three young boys. Well marked and pretty easy for the little ones. We loved the lookout Tower. There is a cavern that is run by a private company that you can pay to hike but we just hiked the small loop trail.

Short well marked trail of crushed granite. The lookout was cool. 3 story's tall. The CCC buildings, stairs and entrances were awesome. The old photos of cave where fun to look at.

Easy walk, heavily shaded trail. Cool rock features throughout the hike. Saw butterflies, birds, bees, and snakes. Climb the observation tower and gaze for miles towards Inks Lake and open farmland. You can also do a 1.5m guided tour (1.5 hours) into the caverns. It was a great way to cool down after the short hike. Definitely recommend you take the time to visit the caverns in addition to the trail.

Got lost... but, it was kinda fun! (Not unsafe lost, a few miles of trail that was not clearly marked, keep looping back. We knew we would eventually pop out near the main parking, so no biggie)
