Lone Star Hiking Trail: Big Creek Section 10 is a 5.8 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Coldspring, Texas that offers the chance to see wildlife. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking and trail running. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Great experience! In some places needed clearer markings where the trail veered off course
Easy hike, tree coverage made it bearable in summer heat. Creek and river were more dry than expected but still a nice experience. We went in at trailhead 10 and walked down to the San Jacinto River along the Lone Star trail. Looking forward to hiking more sections. The bridge at the river was out but you could scale up the side to continue the trail if you wanted.
Trail was easy, well maintained family kid dog friendly. Mosquitos manageable as long as you keep moving
First time on this trail I’ve camped all around it and never knew it was here.
