Beware, Bridge is out on east end of loop and will be diverted down highway. I will agree with other’s post that this scenic drive is misleading as the majority of the drive provides limited to no view of the river. However, this drive will take you through the small town of Casteel, TX and right in front of the Casteel General Store. You must stop here and grab a cold drink of your choice and some food to experience it for yourself, clearly the highlight of this drive...

Terribly misleading to call this a trail

A little disappointed that the BlueBonnets were not yet ready this year. Usually, Easter is a good time, but I think I was about 2 weeks early. However, other wildflowers were in bloom

Be sure to check out this crossing bridge. There is waist deep water usually at the bridge and it makes for a great swimming hole or float!

This is neat drive in the Hill Country of Texas. If you go around Easter, and there is good moisture, the wildflowers will be blooming, and the creeks will be running. If you go late in the evening around sundown, you will see a lot of whitetailed deer. The Schneider's Crossing bridge is very narrow, so pay attention there.
