Fun trail. Again, easy to get up but the way back down was confusing. Too many different signs and not enough guidance. The creek was also not running at this time. I had to walk on a sidewalk for about 20 minutes coming back because the only other option was to walk through a golf course?

This trail was definitely a challenge! So many steps!! The bright side was that it was very clearly marked, there are 10 benches to sit on along the route and even though I went in the middle of the day there was shade from the trees on the trail. Would no recommend to anyone who has difficultly walking down stairs as this was the majority of the way back. Great trail!

highly recommended. started from the pond at the bottom for more shade and an easier hike with my 10 year old. 1 mile round trip to panther hollow junction. continue for about .5 miles up Little Fern trail for a total of 2 miles round trip. beautiful with lots of Creeks and small waterfalls.

I am shocked that in March, I will have to pay $10 to go on this trail. Shame on you "River Place" for putting this beautiful trail out of reach for many Austinite families.

A great workout and all the stream crossings were fun! The sections along the big fence and overhearing the bros on the golf course and their music were less awesome.

Another hike on this pretty trail. I went hiking in the morning elsewhere, then after about 1 and-a-half hours of a "break" (drove to my church, fixed sandwiches to give to hungry people, then drove here), I decided, "I can hike another trail". Needless to say, after hours of hiking in the morning, then tackling this and the River Place trail, I was bushed on Tues.

Very pretty. Very green and leafy, even during the winter time. Good signage. Straight forward trail with lots of steps. Going from north to south is easy, but going south to north you get some elevation climbing. Of course it's not near the level of the Natural Trail at River Place, but it's still a good hike. There was one section, though, where I thought the trial looked a little thin. Then I noticed the actual trail went to the west (I was going from north to south). The steps were a little overgrown and thus hidden, and people have been taking a short-cut (the "thin trail"). I'd urge everyone to try and stay on the actual trail. It's the smallest little cut-off, but still it's good to keep the actual trail in tact.

Nice little part of the larger River Place Nature Trail. Seemed cooler than the rest of the trail which was very nice.

Very pretty hike, the trail can get muddy after a rain. All the stairs are a great workout, but not good in the heat if you aren't in decent shape. I recommend going off on Little Fern trail, great little swimming holes and waterfalls.
