This point to point trail touches several trails starting with the Lazy Cow Trail, walk until the end of this trail at about the 3.5 mile, there you will find an intersection with a dirt road that goes west. Walk on this dirt road that ends in about a mile near an arroyo, you will see the Anthony’s Nose in front of you, there you will find a hiking trail that is not well marked. Walk on this trail until you reach the Sotol Forest Trail and turn to your right, in about a mile you will find an intersection with the Newman Trail, turn to your left, this trail will take you to a saddle that is the highest point of this route at about the 6.5 mile. From this point you will have beautiful views, stop and enjoy them, you will also see the Sierra Blanca Mountain with snow at this time of the year. Then you will walk down by the hillside of the mountain. You will find the intersection of the Newman Trail continuation that goes east, but you continue walking on the same trail to the north. Then you will be walking on the Northern Pass Trail that goes around the end of the El Paso Franklin Mountains. At the point where the Northern Pass Trail turns south near an arroyo, you will find a trail to your right, take this trail on the arroyo and walk north until you start climbing by the trail in direction to the Anthony Gap Cave, once at the top you continue walking dawn until you reach the entrance point near Ohara Rd. The distance to this trailhead is near the 11 miles, here you can decide if you return back to the point you started or finish your journey. For those that like to walk the extra mile, this point to point is a very good option, just find someone that picks you up at the Ohara Rd point.
