Nice mix of open areas and wooded cover with small elevation changes. The trail is clear and the overgrown areas have been mowed. There is a good amount of poison ivy off the trail but if you stay on it you should be okay. We went South to start and the trail is closed due to construction. We look forward to going back.

Very over grown foliage, tall grasses and trees aid in diminishing the trail. Difficult to find path into forest and need a to wear long sleeves and pants to avoid bites and scratches. Spoke with a hiker who was just swarmed by mosquitoes. Grasses are as tall as it gets. Same goes for Fork East entrance.

Easy dirt trail, made somewhat challenging due to the mud that was present when we went. 4.7 miles out and back. The trail doesn't exactly end - at least when this map says it does. We turned around at the end of this map so I'm not sure how far it goes. We saw fresh deer tracks and wild hog "wallows", but fortunately didn't see any actual hogs. Some parts of the trail are wide and open; other parts very narrow with grasses growing along edges of the trail (see pics).

Lots of picnic tables. Best nature to be found in the area. Some nice swimming areas near the boat ramps.

Headed north from trailhead. Pretty muddy from recent rains and LOTS of horse poop along the way. Must have been the first one on the trail (got there at 10am) but passed 6 groups of people/horses on the way back.

Went north from highland park trailhead. Saw the state champion sycamore tree. Trail was interesting and varied.
