Hill view trail was nice. Good inclines and descent. Very scrambly in a few areas. Trail shoes helped!

Not much shade but a solid hike with good elevation change. Would recommend taking the Red Oak off-trail to add on some extra distance - very scenic and well worth it. Bring hiking shoes/trail runners!

Perfect trail, not too easy, not too hard. Recommend wearing shoes with that are durable with hiking tread.

Level4 trail. Loved this because it gave me a decent amount of difficulty. Enough to raise the heart rate but not too much to make me want to quit. Great if you want to focus on the trail. Not great if you want to relax.

Super awesome trail but I suggest not going when rainy like I did because there are very large rocks that are smooth so they’re very slippery and there’s a lot of climbing up and down the really big rocks

Very scenic, very rough. Wear good shoes.

My favorite trail in San Antonio. Perfectly incline at times and perfectly flat at times. It’s a great trail to have a good work out. I couldn’t recommend this trail more. If you want a more adventurous hike, take the outer trail route. If you want a quick 40 min workout head to the top of the tower. Perfect spot to look at wildflowers right now. The best trail in San Antonio for amateur and experienced hikers! You can choose your own adventure :) P.S. sadly the tower lookout is broken. It will be re built. Gorgeous view of San Antonio. P.S.S. Great place to look at wildflowers.

This trail offers a nice level of difficulty for being so close to San Antonio.

Really enjoyed this park. Trails are nice and wide. 1 restroom near top on tower lookout. At first I thought the level 4’s were pretty easy. They kept getting harder and steeper! I rated Friedrich a 7 for my experience, age and ability. I would put the top half on par with that. Not many people here during this quarantine period. Will come again.

Beautiful woodsy trail. We came during golden hour (5pm with a 6:40 sunset) and finished by 6:26pm. It was pretty but there wasn’t much of a lookout at the highest point on the hill. There also isn’t a tower anymore. It’s supposedly going to be rebuilt, so there wasn’t much of a photo opp at that spot either. Overall, it was a nice walking hike. The trails are a bit rocky and require a tiny bit of climbing at some points, but not too difficult.

Probably the hardest trail I've done yet. To be fair though, I'm pretty out of shape. Definitely challenging and worth it though. Beautiful views!

Very safe for a family outing went on a Sunday and there where probably 50 cars in the parking lot but only ran across about 5 groups on trail. Trail is well maintained and clearly marked. Gravel has been spread on dirt portions for many sections. Overall Trail is very rocky and one section is steep with small amount of minor scrambling but there are built in wood “steps” if you want to avoid. The tower at the top is only a wood platform about ten feet off the ground and has been closed for over a year according to the locals. Don’t worry about the tower as it didn’t look worth climbing onto it anyway. The hike was well worth I have an 8 year old that easily made it. Directions to the locations were spot on. Enjoyable hike, give it a try.

Used for some trail running. Short challenging trail run with some nice vertical sections.
