Perhaps it was the fallen leaves, but the trail is not quite the simple “loop” as depicted on AllTrails. There are several branching offshoots between the outer loop. The driftwood from past floods (2015?) along the shore is intriguing... the debris and trash is not. Also note the trail signage indicates the AllTrails “loop” may be a combination of what the signage calls the Hickory Creek and Lakeshore trails.

Starts off near residential houses and campsites for first 1/2 mile. Once you get out of that area you can take a couple options to get down to the lake Trail. Unfortunately there is trash EVERYWHERE because of fluctuations in lake height. Never quite feels like you get away from car noise/trash.

Fun trail though with all the rain we have had this year a portion of the trail was under water. Still a good trek and my dog loved it.

Nice simple hicking trail. We saw several animals and birds. Parts of trail could use some grooming, deep ruts and a tree has fallen across part of trail. Over all it was pleasant. Easy walking.

Great trails maintained by the city of Copper Canyon. Notes that on 6/4 all trails are submerged and impassable.
