This is an easy trail with some very pretty water features and creek access. There are great offshoots that make it a little more exciting!
Very pretty... easy , safe when hiking alone
Enjoyed the off the main trail excursions. Not many on those off-shoots.
This is a great trail, but many pictures and reviews are obviously about Hamilton Pool, and not the greenbelt.
This location is actually called "Hamilton Greenbelt" not "Hamilton Pool". Hamilton Pool is also very nice but it is a different hike (not this one).
pros
* almost completely canopied with trees so plenty of shade even at peak sun time
* there is both easy pressed gravel road trail and scramby single track to choose from
* the main trail head at Lohman's crossing has a very nice parking lot, new bathrooms, and free cold purified water dispenser to fill up your hydration container
* if you choose the single track routes you'll almost always have the hike entirely to yourself
* very well kept and marked trails
* its free
* its never crowded
* people who live around and frequent this greenbelt are friendly and respectful
cons
* none really
about routes
* if you stick to the easy pressed gravel trails there's only about 4 to 5 miles of options
* if you go onto the single track trails you'll have about 7 or 8 miles of options to play with
A great, relaxing trail.
Gorgeous place to visit. One thing to remember to make a reservation and keep in mind that swimming is not always allowed due to bacteria. We enjoyed just being there, it was terrific!
If you get there easy the wait isn't too bad and the view is amazing. The park is regulated to have a relatively small amount of people. Great for photography.
Very Good
Very Good!
This is the Hamilton GREENBELT Trail, not POOL. Great Trail, very clean.
Overall, a nice peaceful hike and a few good views. The trails are not marked very well. Actually the best parks of the hike are the Hurst Hollow and the spur of the Hamilton Greenbelt that goes south to the Palos Verdes parking area. But, I don't believe these are part of the actual Hamilton Greenbelt trail. I'm getting really tired of seeing bags of dog doo lying on rocks, etc.
Nice walking trail
The hike is actually very pretty and feels like u are back in the days of dinosaurs. The grato falls and cave area are magical and makes u wonder how this was used many centuries ago. The only down fall is bacteria in water closes the swimming. Every one needs to experience this place
