Green Ridge Trail is a 3.1 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Houston, Texas that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. This shaded multi use trail winds through Memorial Park nearby Buffalo Bayou. It is a popular trail with mountain bikers. It is a mostly dirt trail and can get muddy. It is a great place to feel secluded by nature and away from the city.
The rich jerks across the street block the parking now. Permit only. There are a few spots on the other side but you’ll need some luck to get one. Overall my favorite trail in memorial!
It’s a nice nature-walk/escape-from-the-city trail. I thought I was going in circles at one point but that’s just because it’s the same scenery around every turn / bring a friend or music. I went early October midday and got attacked by mosquitos! Spray up and wear long everything. $1 for 3 hours parking off E Memorial Loop Drive.
Great trail for a little up and down. Lots of bikers all courteous.
I have ridden Memorial for years, and the construction and weather have taken their toll on this wonderful place. Erosion and sketchy maintenance have made this trail far more challenging. In some ways, that is good, but if you are not familiar with this area's precarious terrain, you could easily get hurt.
I was surprised at the decency of this trial, my boyfriend and I really enjoyed ourselves. I would not recommend bringing a dog, as bikers are quite frequent. They are all polite, communicative, and shared the trail, but it would be hard to wrangle a dog too.
Shaded trail, challenging enough for beginners and medium level, be careful with people walking or biking on counterflow
I went midday when the weather was sunny and in the 90s. The trail was tolerably shaded, so I didn't feel heat exhaustion. I was the only person hiking this trail; others I encountered were mountain bikes or running. The terrain was not rough, just some tree roots here and there and a few larger steps up/down. This trail is great for breaking the monotony of walking in residential areas. When I went, there were many clusters of American beautyberry, bright purple at this time of year.
