Fairfield SP was more lovely than I expected! The Dockery trail is moderate with lots of ups and downs in elevation, not just a boring perimeter trail, plus rocky and lots of stumps (and lots of crunchy leaves in November). Scenic is pretty easy and did have the two best views. Nature & Perimeter (the black dotted line connecting trail on park trail map) are both easy as well. Enjoy!

Dockery Trail was fun. Lots of ups and downs. Scenic trail is aptly named for the lookouts. Nature trail was a bit ho hum.

Good trail. Very well shaded with good views of the water. If you use the Dockery Trail head you add .6 miles and see less people.

it's nice but not much of a hiking trail and more like walking in the woods / forest.

Nice quiet trail. We didn’t see one person. The water areas were still, stagnant water at times, but enjoyable, easy trail.

Only cost $2 for day access for my son. Not much wildlife except for a few water fowl on the lake. Nice walk non the less. Several other trails available. I’ll get to those. Had fun

Very easy trail. Branches off into a maze of other trails. Get the trail map at the park entrance - the trail and those it branches onto are not well marked. Did not see any wildlife but saw lots of tracks.

Took my dog out for a hike yesterday here. It was a nice trail. very well maintained and east to follow. Lots of pretty views of the lake. We saw raccoons, an armadillo, a couple of deer, and had a great time.

Awesome two mile hike the Fairfield State Lake Nature Trail. Usually I power through small hiking loops but this one captivated me. The views of hay grass in the setting sun were breath taking. This is a great path for hiking, jogging, and biking. I will be back to camp in the primitive campsites and hike the longer trails.
