Erwin Park North Loop is a 2.7 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near McKinney, Texas and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
The trail is ONE WAY direction of intermediate skill level. The trail is a mix of tight and twisty in the woods to some fast open field sections. Some gradual climbing, there are some fast and fun downhills as well. There are some technical sections and most of the technical sections have alternate (easy) routes around them.
First time on this trail. At one point was warned by app "off trail?". Checked GPS map and was headed towards the 8 mile loop, so backtracked and crossed the road to rejoin 5he north loop. Started at about 3:30pm on a Beautiful mild April Thursday. In the time on trail passed a double handful of polite bikers. Only one "startlement" near a blind turn but plenty of time for me step off trail and out of the way. Will definitely be back. Lots of me-time in beautiful country. Carried a 3-liter bladder in my pack with the Ten Essentials and the trekking poles came in handy over roots and rocks.
Okay ride. Seemed very tiring at first part of ride, but okay later. 84° / 58% / 7
Great ride today with Gary. Didn’t ride too hard, stoped shot some video. Kind of just playing around on the mountain bikes. 84° / 54% / 7
Lots of bikers and hikers. Pay attention to your speed if you go on the weekend.
Rode with Gary, Dave & Andy. Track is dry. Crumbly in places. Fun Ride, good pace, stopped 2-3 times, so never got tired. Felt fresh the whole ride. 82° / 26% / 3
