As the Summit trail is just too short, this might be the right mix for more folks. It starts with the summit trail, goes to the Echo Canyon trail and as the Echo canyon trail and uses the loop trail to go back to the starting point.

Very unique formation. Be sure to walk around all sides of the upper area to take advantage of the different vistas and views of the park area.

been here 4 times in 2 years. It never gets old looking out over the land from the top. Exploring all the sides and the rest of the park is still on my list. I will be back!

A must do hike for Texans and visitors. Crazy geological structure! Get there early because they only allow a certain number of people a day.

Very crowded on a Sunday... parking will reach capacity. The hike is short and can be steep, but worth it for the views. Park is very well maintained; the park staff are doing a fantastic job!

stayed at the campground for several days and hiked the Summit Trail many times. loved this trail, Echo Canyon and Turkey Pass. One picture posted here has a man standing in the grass in one of the vernal pools at the summit taking a picture of the pool. Please don't do that. That compacts what little dirt there is and damages/destroys the root system of the vegetation.

The view is amazing and unforgettable!!!

Get there early, it's crazy busy on weekends. Had to spend 2 insanely boring hours waiting in Fredericksburg! Great hike - avoid crowded main trails. (Smaller than it looks!). Cheers.

I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because you have to get thete really early on weekends (like 8 am) otherwise, the park closes, and the rangers turn you back inwith a pink slip to come back at 230 pm, without this puck slip, you cannot get in at 230, then thete is a 15 min wait until you pay the $7 entrance fee, the place is definitely worth it, get there on weekdays rather than weekends

Unique trail! More of a summit and the moderate grade makes for great views of the Texas Hill country! Very scenic and many offshoot trail opportunities. Scaled up the recommended hike and scrambled down the back. Rock is sturdy and family friendly.

Very well used trail. Get there early. Park will be closed when crowded. Trails will become slippery and will be closed in event of rain. Beautiful views make the climb worthwhile. Allow some time to explore the summit and take in the view.
