Hiked to the top of the dome with my sons. Enjoyed the steep hike. Amazing views and scenery once you reach the top. Worthy of its name! Enjoy the beautiful sunset. Took a different path on our way back. Beautiful location! Appropriate for adventurous kids of all ages. Keep it clean and always pack your trash.

8:30am clear skies 76 degrees parked near summit trailhead hiked up Granite dome. Awesome views very very unique. ... this is Comanche country........beautiful! Bring plenty of water NO PETS... granite gets really hot in sun and it’s is really steep if you love your pet don’t put it through this terrain ground granite is also sharp and hard on paws. Hike to summit is steep but rewarded by beautiful views... always stop and look back. Take breaks no hurry reaching summit. You’ll get there.

Short steep sections that can be traversed laterally. Otherwise a pretty easy climb.

Love this hike and have done it several times. The views are great; so take a good camera for photos. Go early in the day before the temperature gets too hot and before too many people are scrambling up the rock. Also take lots of water with you.

The hike is straight forward. Straight up the Rock. The views are amazing. Start early. Their is no shade. Fun for the whole family. From the Summit trail we cut across to the Echo Canyon trail to Moss Lake and came back on Turkey Canyon trail. Make sure you pick up a park map. The connecting trails can get a little confusing.

Great views from up top but the only thing you can't see from the top of Enchanted rock, is enchanted rock.

highly trafficked. if you have the time, I'd recommend "off-roading" it to explore the rest of the park...the summit is not a "must"

I’ve done this trail, maybe a half a dozen times. It’s difficult, but rewarding at the top. Nice breeze and the caves are amazing! It takes about an hour to go all the way through, but killer!

Definitely a track up! I would say it’s on the more difficult side of moderate but totally worth it! Breathtaking.

I would recommend getting to enchanted rock early in the day (buy a $7 per adult hiking permit online a couple days in advance as it fills up) and hike the summit first when your legs are fresh and the sun isn’t as intense on the open expanse of granite. Then hike the other trails where there is more shade and the incline isn’t as steep. Beautiful views all around, ponds, streams, a little wildlife (we saw birds and mice) and moderately challenging terrain. You can easily spend the entire day out here. Pack a lunch and water. There are restrooms at trailheads and a water filling station at the base of the summit. Kona ice was there selling drinks and treats and they accept cards.

A short but beautiful hike in the middle of Texas. I did this on Valentine's Day and proposed on the Summit. As perfect as you can get if you are with the right person!
