Enchanted Rock Summit Trail is a 1.3 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Llano, Texas that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
You'll see 360° views of the park and the Texas Hill Country from the 1,823-ft. summit of Enchanted Rock. There can be a very high volume of visitors on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and school breaks. and they close when they reach capacity. You can purchase “Save the Day” passes up to 30 days before your visit with the state parks reservation system. Passes may only be available online during busy times.
This is by far the easiest state park experience of my adventuring so far. Everyone who works or volunteers there is friendly and will help anyway they can when you first enter with questions. you can make reservations to camp and that process is simple. everyone is there to have a good time and everyone respects your time to take photos with the views. Only negative: dogs are not allowed on alot of the trails (understandably so) but still sucks for our adventure pups. I'm generally someone who is afraid of falling .. not heights .. falling. I never felt that way going up the mountain itself. wear good traction shoes and you'll be fine. everyone should check this place out. Great rocking climbing areas too if you're into it and have the right gear and group. There is cave diving as well, you will need head lamps and be ready because it's about a mile long between and under rocks but it's a blast.
Summit was great even on a cloudy day. Lots of foot traffic ....but did i mention..the view! Summit joins w Echo Canyon and the slippy slips! Be prepared for some rocky terrain which leads to a lite roller coaster crushed granite trail. A couple of detours we were not forewarned about. Carry your map! Speaking of slippy slps, #wineyhiker would pair the after trail celebration with a glorious, lite and crisp sauvingnon blanc....to match the air and majesty of the trek.
Not very pretty there were many closed trails due to weather and erosion issues
The loop trail is nice and easy with gorgeous views of the back side of Enchanted Rock, highly recommend late afternoon when the sun will be best illuminating the back side. Summit trail is strenuous so take your time if not fit. Be sure to hike Turkey Pass which has the best trails and views in the park.
It was a great experience to see. Going up enchanted rock was very steep and good exercise.
beautiful and not too challenging, not the best if you’re afraid of heights but i think they call that a “teachable moment”
