wonderful trail i loved, it but not well marked. best to refer to the app trail map.
just made a short hike around a few of the intersecting trails in Huntsville State Park. it was a good stretch of the legs and it was nice to get out of the house and on the hiking trail after all the snow and ice of last week.
Flora is pretty similar to the Chinquapin Loop, but the lake view is prettier on this trail. There are many people with their doggy.
The dogwood trail was very beautiful! clean we went on a Friday and so there was not a lot of people in the park and the weather was perfect for a hike!
We decided to take a hike during our drive between Houston and Dallas. We looked up trails on All- Trail and voila! We hiked the Dogwood Trail in November on a beautiful 70 degree, breezy day. It was 3.4 miles as promised. The trail is marked but a bit confusing and I was glad I downloaded the map. Shaded. Nice trail floor. Walked along lake for a while. Good hike. A few cyclists. Saw families with kids and seemed like a good trail for kids. Glad we stopped. Oh! We paid $7 per person to get in.
Nice easy trail. If riding a bike don’t take a cheap one, there are some nasty roots along the trail.
Actually a loop of the Dogwood & Prairie Branch Loop trails. Nice forest and lake views, well-defined trail. If you have a dog like we did, watch out for bikers (trails are pretty narrow and not a lot of space to pull off). Overall, nice morning spent here!
it was a great day to be out hiking. I only expected to do three and a half miles and ended up doing seven and a half. overall excellent day.
Lovely morning hike, cant wait for the the heat and humidity to break. Loved seeing American lotus in bloom on the north end of Lake Raven. Not too crowded for a Labor Day holiday.
