This is a rugged trail through the Sierra Quemada, the foothills coming off the Chisos Mountains. This trail is 11.9 miles from the trail head at the end of Juniper Canyon road to the Homer Wilson Ranch House. One can find scenic views of Elephant Tusk and the South Rim. There is usually water at Fresno Spring. One finds evidence of past ranching efforts. The Sotol Grassland is spectacular! You will most likely encounter NO ONE on this hike.
