The Loved this trail. Moderately challenging and beautiful views. Four stars because trail was somewhat hard to follow (but it was early morning and we may have just been too tired..) Mountain View trail continues off Rustling Leaves trail near the lake and looked steep and fun but we decided not to take it.
If you take the roadside trail to the mountain view trail and to the top, it’s easy and super stroller friendly. Maybe 1 place where you need to pick it up. I was carrying my tot but wished I had my stroller. Now coming down, I went to the trail marked to the far right. I initially checked the one closest to the bench but that looked really steep and dangerous. The “path” on the far right was very steep and dangerous as well for someone carrying a baby in a carrier or people not in peak physical shape. It’s not little kid friendly at all. I wished I had gone back the same way I had come. Once I got on ground level, it’s easy and mostly flat- stroller friendly again. 4 stars cause many splits were not marked. #gltmomtip
Short hike with elevation. There’s not much of a few at the top, but still a nice hike through the woods.
I love the mountain climb on this trail. Takes you to the Mountain View. There is also an alternate way without the big climb if you prefer. Going off the trail, you will find a couple of pretty waterfalls! Watch out for snakes though. I walked up on two water moccasins!
Gets really steep at the end but awesome! Saw turtles and lizards and fish
This is the map for Upper Mountain View Trail at the state park. A portion of this trail has been added since TP&W published their trail map online, but i walked this in its entirety today.
