Great walk but not much of a trail though. Basically a hike up and down the beach. Very pleasant.

Drive right onto the beach. One of the few places left where you can let your dog run on the beach, leash free. Loved it.
The only drawback was the Bolivar Car Ferry. It takes only a little time to get to the Bolivar side from the Galveston Island side, but when you want to come back, plan on spending 2 + hours in line. To drive around the bay to home would also take about 2 hours.
