Crownridge Canyon Bear Grass Trail is a 1.8 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near San Antonio, Texas that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
Nice little trail. Narrow in some areas. Clearly marked though. You'll see the marker for Bear Grass at the top of the Red Oak trail. It goes off the pavement into natural terrain. Steep in areas and muddy after rain.
It's in Crownridge Canyon Nature Preserve
lol, great time walking in the snow.. totally forgot to turn off or stop recording.. cant figure out if its possible to edit.. but only 2 miles
Starts off paved but then gets to be rocky and dirt. Very good trail. Rocks are smooth so i suggest not to go when wet
Only way to reach Bear Grass trail (the best section) is via Red Oak which is paved. The AllTrails map has you returning on the same section of Red Oak as you went out. No real reason for this, unless you just want to see the same thing again, as the other section of Red Oak (which completes the Red Oak - Bear Grass Loop) is just a tenth of a mile longer. Strongly suggest doing the loop.
