Rarely hiked and difficult to follow, the Cross Canyon Trail is for strong, experienced hikers only. Loose, rocky footing and an indistinct path require patience and good map-reading skills. Tremendous vistas and access to the Rio Grande reward those hikers who make the extra effort necessary to follow the route.
