Really enjoyed this hike!
Heading down to the large area of the Colorado River is easy and would be good for just a short stroll.
If you head to the south side of the main road, you'll find lots of different trails heading in all directions.
Easy to stray from the trails but not too hard to find your way back. Just follow the river.
Nice rocks with overhangs and good sights, most of the trail was dense but opened up to good spots in the river bed.

Short trail. Not much of a hike, but nice views and good park area by the water if you don't mind the youths.

This park is a spectacular example of native plant restoration in process, in cooperation between the city of Austin and a dedicated nonprofit group. The reward for their work is the thousands of native and migrant birds that dine on and nest in the native grasses and wildflowers every year. In order to protect the ground nests, PLEASE understand that DOGS MUST BE LEASHED and cleaned up after. Their presence alone is enough to disrupt bird behavior. Not too great for hiking but birding is terrific.

Fun hike. The trail up into the hills is great. Dogs loved it and you can even see a few waterfalls. On the other side of the park is a open area right down to the Colorado River. Awesome historic buildings. Nice hidden gem.
