Please note that some of the trails in this area close periodically for flooding. Clear Creek is a wonderful natural area with about 4 total miles of trail, located northeast of Denton, Texas. It's a lowland preserve that's got a great diversity of plantlife and birds. It is located in the Lake Lewisville upper floodplain, so the trails can get very muddy after a rain and it is best to visit during a dry week. Trails are sometimes well managed and other times totally overgrown.

The trail meanders the forest for the most part. Your feet will be on earth all the time - no concrete. Both sides of the trail is wild enough to entertain hikers. A tiny section has no cellular signal but the trail is obvious enough so you won’t get lost. The restroom, though, is just one United portable unit at trail entrance.

Beautiful trail, but not maintained well at all. You currently can’t complete the hike because part of the trail is completely under water with no way around. It’s rather disappointing that it’s so poorly maintained, because it has the potential of being a pretty great hike.

Nice pretty flat trail. A couple trails were closed due to rain and water.

The trails are nice and shaded for the most part but things were a little muddy and a few spots you had to jump over water.

Nice now! Nice wetland watering views, Easy walking.not muddy now, Mostly shaded trails. Wide trails. Saw a one inch diameter snake sliding away in front of my path. Not overgrown, seems just been cut down. It’s time.

The trails are really thin in some parts and a little over grown. Other than that, it’s a great trail and I will definitely be going back!

It is really pretty but there are parts of the loop that I wish they would clear, especially considering that the area has an abundance of water moccasins.

Good enough for a trail to walk your dogs! Definitely not good for bike riding though. There’s not many trails to explore, so it’s very easy, but once you’re done going through it, that’s pretty much it. Really pretty and there’s a little lake on the edge of it.

This trail is pretty nice, however it stays muddy pretty frequently. Just a heads up to wait a few more days longer than normal after a rain! Has a little creek/wetlands, tiny quarry, and a large prairie that’s gorgeous. Tons of hawks and other small birds, rabbits, and probably a snake or two. Overall, never disappointed by this trail.
