The only way this is moderate is if you do this in August at 2pm carrying 100 lbs. Get out of here, this city is as flat as a concrete slab.

Not a lot of people on the walking/running trail early morning, moderate coverage, not secluded from the busy city all of the time but a very lovely nice hike

Running

I’ve been running this trail for 2.5 years a few times a week. Used it to train for the Houston Half and blew my goal time out of the water. It has spectacular views and offers unencumbered walking, running, and biking along the whole deal. It’s been there for me when I just wanted to have some fun and push myself, and it’s been there when I felt low and needed to blow off steam. It means a lot to me and always will.

I love this trail and go back to it often. There are plenty of options for stretching it longer, or cutting it short depending on your day. Don't forget to take your own water until it's safe to use public fountains again.

Great trail for inner city views. My wife and I went late in the afternoon (6:30pm) and found parking towards the southwest end of the park. It was our first time and loved how the park had two separate trails. One for biking the other for walking. Was a bit upset much of the walking trail was closed due to construction. Park had many signs encouraging people to keep their distance and majority of the people did maintain their distance regarding COVID-19. Overall, great experience and can’t wait to go back when all the construction is completed!

There’s a lot of construction going on in the area so we could not take the trail all the way to Shepard

WalkingGreat!

I really love this loop. I actually start from Memorial Park, walk towards downtown through the bayou and love every bit of it. Once I reach the Aquarium I turn back to Memorial Park. All in it is 10 to 12 miles depending start/stop point. There is some construction here and there but that is because they are expanding. Most of the trail is along side the bayou with tons of areas to rest and enjoy the outside. Most of it is paved but with some off shoots for walkers only that is on dirt. Go and enjoy this gem in the heart of town.
