Bringle Lake Park Full Loop is a 6.8 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Texarkana, Texas that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
We hiked the trail clockwise, so we walked along the road and past the golf course first; there were no bikers and few people on this beautiful fall day. We logged a total of 7.4 miles on MapMyHike, probably because we followed the shoreline trail after we passed the spillway, instead of continuing on the large trail. The shoreline trail diverges from the larger trail by the park bench just above the spillway, and goes right toward the lake as you hike clockwise around the lake. It was marked with occasional yellow and green arrows, and was narrow and winding but easy to follow. A beautiful hike! We saw many birds, butterflies, and one snake.
We followed the Yellow and green arrows on a trail along the edge of the lake between the parking lot and the spillway. This trail was smaller, less traveled, and beautiful!
Sharing with bikes is ok because I like both, but everyone should know.
Just went on the trail a few miles to check it out. I had my Senior dog, Casper, with me and I keep him under 4 miles, if I can. Nice trail, well marked that follows the water's edge. We even made it out after dark with no issues following trail back out.
Great local trail for exercise or training. not sure where they get 6.8 miles from though. Every time I've done the loop I show 5.6....and I stay on the trail the entire time. Hard packed ground can be very slick when wet or covered with algae/moss. Snakes have been a common sight for me on the back leg of the trail near the golf course.
