Overall relatively flat and straightforward. A couple of climbs and some pretty great views of bluebonnets and the lake.

Sneaky little trail...not completely flat...minimal elevation. Some climbing just to get the heart rate up. t There is an overlook tower at the halfway point and a bird blind. definitely do it again to get an extra mile in.

The trail is in good shape but watch out for the poison ivy.

Great 1 mile loop. Had four kids (ages 2-7) with us. They were able to do the whole trail without complaint. Great benches for breaks and a lookout on the trail. 30 minute total trail time.

HikingGreat!

The trail was great! Well kept. Even though it was a great experience be really careful. I saw a Big Bobcat. It was a pretty good size cat( about the size of a fully grown Labrador or so). It was about 20 feet away from me. Saw me and kept going. Thankfully there were 2 other people behind me, I guess the big cat saw a pack of people and backed off.

It was a nice short hike. Medium difficulty. Some big rocks at times, beautiful views of the Lake. Kind of crowded on a Sunday afternoon.

took the trail counter clockwise. prefer it this way. easier warm up on blue bonnet, harder finish with cedar ridge.

Great first trail for parents! We didn’t get very far with our normal 4 wheel stroller, so be warned parents get a bicycle wheel stroller if you plan on coming here. However if you have a tiny baby, and don’t have a fancy stroller, ou can go down this trail a short while to a bird watching hut that makes a great place for a short picnic. Bring lots of water!

Hiked a couple of hours today, mostly uphill. It was beautiful though, and everything is getting green and will be in full bloom soon! I hiked the Bluebonnet, Fossil Valley, and Escarpment trails (all around cattail pond). A little over 4 miles, equal to 18 flights of stairs, and 12K steps. So empowering!

This one is the perfect distance for a quick visit with my 2 year old and 6 year old. Not too many steep walks up, not a lot of traffic, and it takes us about 45 min (since toddler legs go slow).
