It wasn’t a trail. We walked on the road from Goose Island State Park to The Big Tree. Somewhere we saw “1 mile” to the Big Tree, it’s more like 2.4 miles. But if you walk along the water side there are lots of birds to see. Pelicans, Turkey Vultures, Red Winged Blackbirds, Egrets, Whooping Cranes, Roseate Spoonbills, Kingfishers, Grackles and Killdeers. And some ducks in a pond.

Very short, but pretty trees. The kids love to climb them (not the big tree of course).

Walking
First to Review

Short paved walk around the famous Big Tree. This is part of Goose Island State Park but is located a short drive from the main park. (NOTE: Don’t confuse this with the Big Tree Trail at nearby Aransas NWR. Both use the same name unfortunately.)
