This trail is fairly easy, albeit crowded. Hiking would be easy on this trail, but running is difficult due to the amount of rocks. NO WATER on this route - so if this is summer, i would bring PLENTY or turn around halfway, this gets brutally hot during summer months - be safe!

Nice walk from Ben White to Barton Springs.

Beautiful trail. Watch out for bikers. Lots of police workers in the road in many places to explore.

I feel super fortunate have a place like this that is available for free to everyone in the Austin area. While it can get crowded during peak times on pretty days and sometimes large groups can be rowdy at the swimming holes, you cannot beat having this scenery with multiple trailheads over such an expansive area. The fact that it’s almost entirely located within a major urban area is utterly amazing. It’s a real gift to live near here.

I would recommend this trail to all newcomers to Austin! It’s great especially for people who are using app ride shares. I got dropped off at the start and just got picked up a couple of miles in. A little rocky if you’re looking for a trail run, but it is very runnable in sections. Pass by every opportunity from kayaking, swimming, and rock climbing! Beautiful day!

This trail is great for a 4 mile hike on the way to Barton Springs. After the hike you can take a dip in the pool and Uber your way back to your car.

Great hiking trail, and some parts are good for running, but if you go on the weekend be prepared to run into a LOT of folks hitting the river/water holes. Most of the trail is covered, so that helps to keep yourself out of the sun too
