Bachman Lake Trail is a 3.1 mile loop trail located near Dallas, Texas that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and road biking and is accessible year-round.
Trail under repair. Sketchy people spotted. Don't go there alone. Thanks
This hike is located just north of the border of Dallas Love Field Airport. One should be realistic about the level of "back-to-nature" experience to expect. This is a pleasant little oasis of nature, in the middle of Dallas strip malls, streets, and an airport. The trail is paved, smooth, wide, well-maintained - excellent! This would be a really nice place to bring kids to ride bikes. It has some playgrounds, picnic areas, and rest room facilities.
After my flight down from Idaho, it was very nice to take a stroll around this lake. I was able to see some cute squirrels, some lovely birds, and some nice people having fun on a Sunday afternoon.
Did a 5k summer running series here a few years back. Not a terribly interesting or challenging course.
Was not very scenic. Parts of it had a sewer odor. But the planes taking off from Love Field right over our heads made it more interesting.
It's an ok place to walk. Very crowded on weekends.
This 3+ mile loop is great for running, but I can't give it more than three stars because the area is just unattractive for the most part. If you want to run for training, I recommend it. If you want nice scenery, skip it and head to White Rock.
