Great trail. I highly recommend keeping a trail map (mobile or paper) as there are quite a few different trail options.

Trail was in good shape, only thing that is a little annoying is the only way back to your starting point is miles away across the River.

I really enjoy this loop and the ability to add/change things up by taking bypasses and adding loops. It's generally pretty well maintained but keep in mind it's single track. Set your expectations accordingly. It's a solid workout. Hills aren't bad at all. Watch for cotten mouth snakes at creek crossings and swampy areas (they're natural inhabitants and will leave you alone if you do the same). All in all it's a beautiful setting. Very peaceful and almost full shade the entire time save for a couple a spots where you cross power-line cuts.

Mountain bikingBridge out

Did the 7 mile yesterday. Came back to do the 12 mile today. It was a workout. The front section and middle section of the trail are well maintained. The back blue is a little rough. Bridge is out and there’s a stinky dead turtle at the best place to cross... which you also have to climb through a downed tree while you’re dragging your bike across the creek. Still, can’t complain. It is a nice place to ride and if you get tired of the path, it connects to the mostly paved Greenline in a few places.

I ride this trail weekly, year round. There are two parallel trails in the loop: the yellow and blue, plus a white section south of Walnut Grove, which is up on a narrow bluff. (The map on here actually highlights the white "goat trail" where the trails are shown farthest apart. The blue is there between the white and yellow but not highlighted on this map.) The yellow trail drys out the fastest, but expect some short bursts of deep sand in a few places. Lots of roots, mostly flat with a few climbs/drops here and there, so you can go fast. Lots of runners and bikers on the weekend. Great for trail running and family hikes too.
