Great trail. Extremely well maintained. Will definitely hike again. A bench at the very end on the bluff overlooking the lake would be perfect!!!!!

Good trail — my toddler hiked most of it by herself. Not the most spectacular or interesting hike but exactly what I was looking for to get outside during the pandemic. It ends with an overlook over the lake. We saw one other person on the trail. It is well maintained and well marked. Would be good for trail running. We will definitely come back for a chill day hike.

The beginning is moderate bc almost the entire elevation gain is in the first .23 miles. Easy trail to run, well marked, the end is a cliff, so yea could have been a better ending

For those missing the GSMNP this is an alright sub. You see buildings and must hike by the road for a significant part of the hike. The trails are well maintained by a group called WATER. I met a couple of folks doing trail maintenance. They took a lot of pride in the trail as they should. So thanks to that group for providing a wonderful trail. I was told by a person who uses the trail frequently that traffic has increased significantly since the Park closure. The total trail is about 30 miles. There’s some very good views of the lake and the dogwoods were spectacular. Try this trail; you won’t regret.

I did this trail today and found it to be moderate rather than easy due to the hills. Fitbit gave me 39 floors. It’s very pretty with the wildflowers. Nice look at the lake when you get to the turn around. I was the only one on the trail today. I got creeped out at this one spot when I heard something in the bushes. A wildcat?? Hope not. Great hike! Oh I loved the markings. No way to get lost.
