If nothing else, the drive to access this trail features beautiful lake views and scenic roads. The trailhead is at the back of The Retreat at Center Hill Lake on public Army Corp property along Center Hill Lake. There is a small area for parking at the trail head as well as additional parking throughout the property. This is a great spot to enjoy a hike as well as have access to the lake for fishing or boating. The trails connect into the neighboring Appalachian Center for Craft trail system which includes access to a lookout tower and a cafe.

Nice lake trail hike with a few good overlooks but lots of trees. Connects to several trails at the Appalachian Center for Crafts, however nothing is marked well with no distances and no blazes. Not really much to see. Very lightly traveled trails.
