Upland Trail Outer Loop is a 2.2 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Kodak, Tennessee that features a river. The trail is good for all skill levels and is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
This trail covers a small elevation incline to give you an overlook of the park as well as a faint view of Mt. Leconte. The trail is mostly open fields with some portions of wooded area. There are plenty of opportunities to see wildflowers and wildlife. The terrain is part mowed grass and part dirt to mud.
Well marked, nice grassy trail. Great for my 4 year old smallest hiker to do on his own. We saw 13 deer by my daughter's count and added on walking over the bridge and picnicking on the other side because our hike wasn't too strenuous. Spotted some very neat birds. Can't wait to explore this park some more and hike more of the trails.
Easy trail. Nice for all ages.ostly paved and a nice long bridge to cross.
Very nice state park. Many trails patterns to choose from.
Very nice trails at seven islands state park. Most run through fields but there is a nice, brand new, bridge taking you to an island loop as well
Great easy walk that provides some fabulous views. This trail has a little bit of everything — a bit of an incline, some open fields, a stretch through the woods, and a paved section. It’s great for all skill levels and provides connections to multiple other trails if you want to keep going. Loved this trail!
Spectacular views from this trail!! It’s a bit more advanced than the others due to elevation changes but really nice!!
Highly recommend this trail to anyone looking for a dog friendly trail with great views. We did see several deer in the field right next to us. It was also great to see a ranger on the trail, as well as Knox County Sheriffs on bike patrol. Beautiful setting here at Seven Islands.
