The first part of the trail was interesting and well maintained and kept you alert for stops.
The second part of the trail was noisy and traffic made crossings difficult but if you wanted a place to eat and rest you had many choices.

Nice, well kept trail. Would rate it as easy. It’s completely flat.

Great place to take a safe long bike ride. Packed gravel and pretty decent scenery make this for a great spot for a spin.

There is nothing "moderate" about this trail. It's beautiful, flat and well kept. There are several places you can start this trail and walk as far as you wish but remeber you have to make it back to the point which you started from. The change is seasons are beautiful and calming along this trail.

Love taking the dogs. Haven't done the whole trail with them but the pretty section in JC is shaded. Hubby did the entire trail from JC to Elizabethton & needed water, had a hard time finding places to get water so he went off the path to fast food stops. Be prepared to carry water & refill container. There was a porta-potty at the beginning and end. Less trash cans to put doggy bags in, bring your own. Hubby really liked the trail as a runner he said it was perfectly packed to run on but got extra hot at the end as no trees to shade u.

This is our family favorite for morning exercise to a scenic family walk in the afternoon.

I did almost all of my marathon training on this "trail". It is a very well maintained gravel path but for the most part you're behind houses, crossing roads, and once you hit about 4.5 miles you're crossing roads more and not much shade. From about mile 6- 7.5 you're right on the edge of a 4 lane road through Elizathbethton where all the food and stores are. Highly recommend for walking, running, biking but not so much if you are wanting to be in nature and solitude.

This is a well maintained gravel road. If ur looking for nice scenery or wildflowers, this is not the place. The worst part is when the trail reaches Elizabethton. Its smack dab in the middle of town, no trees, just a bunch of car exhaust and asphalt. Its nice for a workout but turn around before u reach Elizabethton and dont go expecting to see wildlife/wildflowers.

The convenient location and well maintained trail make this the best place for a quick hike or jog in Johnson City.

Came back the second day and did a 6.3 mile bike ride. Getting further along the trail opened up some very beautiful views along the way. Old railway station locations act as resting point along the trail. Very nice.

Did a 4 mile walk along the trail but I wanted to see more. Trail is old train bed so it is a good walking surface. Planning to come back and go further.
