This a nice meandering trail which winds around an abandoned stone quarry. The quarry cut marble blocks from the 1880s to the 1920s, and then later reopened to be a limestone quarry. The quarry has filled with water and is now an absolutely gorgeous lake. The trail is maintained by Ijams Nature Center, which is just across the street from the trailhead. It can be surprising to find such a wonderful trail nestled deep in South Knoxville!

Nice walk around to see pretty views at a couple of overlooks. The old graveyard was cool, the most interesting part of the hike. Fits the bill for convenient near-town hike. Might not necessarily return though.

This trail is a great short hike perfect for an afternoon walk. I highly recommend bringing your dogs along on these trails, as the terrain is pretty easy for them. There are some great views of the quarry lake and the surrounding forest area. While there isn't as much greenery in the winter months, the leaves litter the floor and make for a fun crunchy hike.

This is a good climb and decent old grave yard and views of the quarry.
