Excellent hike, at least to Sunset Rock as that’s where I went. Not too technical/difficult, but you can make it aerobic if you hustle. The two hour round trip as it is described on this site is pretty accurate if you do a little sightseeing along the way. A couple of important notes: right as you start, there is a decision to make to go straight and down a bit or to turn left and uphill - head uphill. Next, once you are on down the trail, there is a big sign on the left side that describes the area, and there is a trail that goes uphill and back towards the way you came from. Just keep straight for Sunset Rock. Once you get to the steps that look like stairs, you’re almost there. Lots of fun and beautiful scenery.
Partly flat dirt road, partly rocky ankle twister. Don’t stop at where the sunset rock is marked on the map, go past it and you’ll see a trail to the top of it. That’s where the view is at.
excellent trail for a great day hike. pay attention to the maps, a few branch off routes. sunset rock worth it
A little muddy, but otherwise really nice, scenic, and not crowded today!
This is my favorite route to Sunset Rock when I’m not up for the more strenuous option from the Guild trail. Milder inclines and easily accomplished in under two hours, including a stop on top to enjoy the view, eat a granola bar and snap a few photos.
Enjoyed this walk - didn't find one spectacular open view point - but some views through the trees. Rock formations were very cool. Really enjoyed the one little cave with the large rock blocking it. I combined this with Point Park for more mileage/fun! Follow my instagram for more adventures @julie_journeys
Pretty nice trail, not very challenging until you get to the end and need to climb steep steps to the top. The view is pretty, especially on a nice sunny day. Also a nice place if you enjoy climbing. Overall would recommend.
Unbelievable views and a really cool trail. Lots of rocks and great terrain. Highly recommend stopping by if in the area
