This is a nice trail, but a little narrow and frequented by mountain bikers so it can be a little tight to pass each other. The signage is also partially missing so it can be easy to feel lost, and some of the trailheads are closed. We started from the Spears trailhead and did Hill City to Gig City to Double J which worked out fine, and totaled 3.6 miles according to my watch.

Love this trail! We run it but it looks super sweet for biking too. Always nice people. Sometimes we see lots of dogs and other times we don’t. I haven’t brought mine because the trails are so narrow at points it could be a struggle. One of my favorite spots to go these days, and bonus in the summer heat is that’s it’s almost 100% in the shade!

Open during covid. Very nice multi purpose trail: we met cyclists, runners and hikers. It’s relatively easy trail and very relaxing/zen - good way to reconnect with nature. My favorite part was Hill City section of Blue Trail. Also there are bathrooms at the parking lot/entrance.

Start at High Ridge Trailhead on High Ridge Road. The start point on the AllTrails map is now closed. My favorite part was the Double J section (for more than the obvious reason ;)). Great trees make it worth the walk. Mediocre in sections and can be crowded on weekends

Wish the view was better. The trail was well maintained but not as well marked at two sections where there appeared to be a side trail.

I entered the trail at the end of Spears Rd because the other entrance was closed. It was a great trail for running/hiking. Lots of mountain bikers. The trail is a lot of ups and downs and sharp curves but very do-able. Not difficult but not easy. Would do this trail again!

Fun trail, super close to downtown. Mountain bikes run this trail too so keep your eyes open. Nice view of downtown at one spot. I'll hike it again for sure. Start at the end of Spears Ave at the trailhead. The original trailhead is still washed out from earlier in the year.

Worth the hike... Cherokee entrance is not only closed, the connector trail is washed out for a good 25’ section with no sign that they will be repairing... just count on entering from Spears Ave and hike in from there

My buddies and I just started getting into mountain biking and we have tried a few different trails but this is the trail we come to every week. Tough uphill climb at the beginning, but not impossible, and then a lot of fun downhill trails.

I’ve hiked most of the trails here. Some were blocked by debris. The main trailhead is now closed due to a mud slide. Not a bad place to hike but not my favorite in the area.

One of my favorites! Ignore the one star reviews re: landslide/closed trail and simply drive down Spear St where it dead ends. Can’t miss it. Parking lot, bathrooms, and trailhead there. Starts with Hill St trail, gentle uphill to the fork of Double J trail and the Strut. If you want the Alta Vista overlook, take Strut a short distance to where they connect. Bonus points: everything smells like honeysuckle this week!

everyone, enter from the spears st parking lot!!!! anyways, trails are easy to ride, smooth, rare root sections that are mellow. can ride with a road bike frankly. but the climbing is harsh. Ill never be able to ride up any of the long hills in hill city without stopping. Also its so crowded that you can NEVER get a clean run down a hill... frustrating. and the most frustrating thing is that the pump track and few jumps that used to exist are completely eroded to nothing. i really hope they atleast repair the pump track... i mean, come on.
