HikingGreat!

Beautiful views of the falls. Watch out for black bears, I saw one in the trial early in the morning. Kept my distance while the bear ate berries up in the tree. But he ran off once other hikers showed up. Made for a good story

Scenic drivingGreat!MuddyRocky

This trail was incredible! My husband and I were looking for a relatively short, but strenuous hike and this was just that. It was a perfect combination of gorgeous mountain views, shaded areas, rocky and semi-challenging areas, and a spectacular waterfall at the end. I would definitely recommend this trail if you are trying to avoid the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge crowds. The drive to get there is also magnificent!! This was a great first-time Smoky Mountains experience! I will note that there are some pretty muddy/slippery areas right next to some drop-offs. So wear some good hiking shoes! I have some Lugz from Amazon that I bought for only $35 and they were just fine!

Not sure why this rated moderate. To me it was strenuous. Had to climb in areas! Beautiful falls!!

HikingGreat!

Rocky, but short, trail that's worth the effort. Park at the Tremont Institute, and walk behind the building from there... Steep incline for about a third of the way, leveling off for a short bit, and then descending the rest of the way. The falls are significant and beautiful. Moderate traffic, but not nearly as much traffic as say, Laurel Falls down the road. Took us (maybe?) 2 hours round trip with a 17 mo old on my husband's back and a stop for a snack at the destination. Easy trail for those that are sure footed and in decent shape.

Hiking

Easy hike with a few steep inclines and lots of roots and rocks on the trail. Falls were crowded but we were able to stick around for awhile and take some wonderful photos. Plenty of space to spread out around the falls so you can still socially distance from others even when it is busy.

beautiful trail with a few breath taking overlooks. A tree has fallen infront of the falls but you can climb up and still see it perfect. would come back anytime!

Great!Rocky

Rugged on the way up, but well worth it for the waterfalls at the end. Great place to stop and sit for lunch. Went with 7 year old and 4 year old and they were tired on the way back, but overall they did really well. Saw a snake, some lizards, and a bear! Very beautiful hike.

Relatively easy hike that was only 1.4 miles round trip, not 1.8. It took us 40 minutes round-trip to complete. The waterfall was very pretty and worth the hike. There was a tree down across the waterfall which sucked but you can climb the rocks to get around it for a better picture.

Well worth the effort for the tall waterfall at the end! The incline was gentle but slippery today because of recent heavy rain. Path consists of rocks and roots most of the way so good shoes essential. Even with my hiking poles I slipped twice. Have to park in one of the lots across the highway as institute is closed.

HikingGreat!

Nice hike up a hill to a beautiful waterfall and creek area. We did see a mama bear and her 2 cubs on the hike back down. Not a difficult hike, didn’t take too long, about 2 hours in and out, not counting the time we spent at the waterfall.

from a middle aged flatlander, the rocks and roots on the inclines slowed up down quite a bit. a couple of inches of rain the day before had water running down the trail. the waterfall at the end was amazing

This is a very hard trail. Should be considered hard not moderate . Lots of rocks and roots. Be careful ! The falls are beautiful ! The trail is started at the visitor center. The center is closed and there is a get up but the trail is still open.
