I hiked the Rocky Flats Trail. today. from double camp road. I hiked 3 miles before I had to turn back, because the trail was overgrown at that point. I saw a very large black Bear. the trail is a little hard to follow past, the 2nd Creek crossing. someone has flagged the hard to follow parts, with red tape. I made a small path as far I went. it will be easier for the next guy. overall a beautiful place, secluded, I didn't see any other hikers. I had the trail to my self.

I would take this with a grain of salt, it has been awhile since I did this hike, this is where I may be wrong, I thought the north trail head was marked as trail 100. It was moderate to hard trail a lot of nice scenery. When my wife and I did this trail we lost light on the south end and walked the road back to the vehicle. To be honest the hard packed gravel road was worse than the hills. Take a medium pack with food and water, there a few water sources if you purify, and maybe a hammock but, give yourself an early start especially in the fall with waning light. I hope this helps.
