Pine Oak Nature Trail is a 1.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Townsend, Tennessee that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from February until November.
Nice nature trail in the Cade's Cove Campground. A nice steep climb with rododendron Forest as you descend. Good hike for a peaceful nature hike.
Short but invigorating nature trail with markers along the way identifying certain trees and a salient detail about said tree. Oddly enough, though the trail is named the Pin Oak Nature Trail, I never saw a marker for any pin oaks. The trail ascends to a high point that is labeled "Overlook" on older topo maps (and follows the general route of what was then called the Vista Trail). The Overlook does provide some views of Cades Cove, but in summer, foliage limits the views. This area is also an excellent place to view wildlife; near this trail (and in the Cades Cove Campground), we saw numerous deer who are somewhat oblivious to humans.
