Beautiful Rhododendron covered tunnel trail most of the way. Great views of the fall foliage off of the side trails and at the top. NOTE: The access road to this hike is closed every year from January 1st till the end of winter.

Beautiful Rhododendron covered tunnel trail most of the way. Great views of the fall foliage off of the side trails and at the top. Met a few adventurous climbers rappelling over the beautiful rock face who were more than happy to show us how its done. Today the road was in great shape for our little Kia Soul to travel on.

Moderate climb first half outbound. Much of it thru a tunnel of rhododendrons. Multiple balds to the right for a beautiful view. Only down side is the 3 mile unpaved trip to the trailhead (also beautiful) and the traffic on the trail. This trail is no secret - still worth it!

Love the views! Hike is easier than the road up but worth it!

Great easy hike with awesome views from multiple outlooks. The road up is very narrow and rough so definitely be careful especially if you don’t have a car made for rough terrain (also takes about 30 mins to drive up this road the trailhead from the base of the mtn). Be careful not to miss several outlooks before hitting the main outlook...some are not as obvious from the Trail but have just as spectacular views at the end outlook.

Excellent short but easy hike. The road in is rough but worth it. I suggest a truck or Jeep as the recent rain has down damage to the roads.

Great easy hike!

Great easy trail to walk/run to see some great views. Unfortunately we walked it on a very cloudy day so we could not see it in all of its beauty. We will definitely be back on a sunny day.

The drive is challenging and a little rough. Hike is fairly easy. The views are amazing!

The hike itself is easy and the views are stunning especially in fall. However the forest service trail up took a long time and was a bit harrowing at sections. I would have rather hiked longer and avoided that. Won’t be back.

Great trail! Took our Girl Scout troop in June 2017. Fires in fall of 2016 left lots of the understory cleared which was beautiful in its own way. The views at various point along the trail are breathtaking.

The road to get to the trail head is a little crazy, but if you're looking for an easy hike to an amazing view, this is it.
My girlfriend and I watched the solar eclipse from the peak and it was absolutely beautiful. There are multiple lookouts and plenty of shady places to set up a hammock. Definitely going down as one of my favorites.

Amazing hike through tunnels of rhododendron. Looks like there has been some controlled burning recently so there was a bit of char left over, but the wooded walk was still very pretty. Near the end of the hike there are numerous short side trails that take you out to the rocky ledges and overlooks. Absolute stunning views. Well worth the hike. Can't wait to go again in autumn.

The drive up the mountain to the Trailhead is more difficult than the actual hike . The view at the end is great!

It's been a while since I was there but remember it fondly. Easy hike for everyone. Great views south, east and Ridgepole mt. to the west. Don't miss the first overlook to the east. Its on a short side trail on the left. Pair it with the short hike to the tower on Albert mt. up the road for fantastic 360 degree views.
