Description
Waypoints (0)

Once you cross Edwards Point Road the trail starts down toward the creek. There are no switchbacks and the erosion is fairly severe, but doable. Once you turn south along the base of the escarpment, it is slow going due to rocks. The trip back is mostly uphill and can be rather tiring.

Great trail for a summer hike, almost all shade with many song birds talking in the tree canopy. Deeper in the trail we heard a day owl. Many trails crossing, we didn’t watch our orange markers and took the more traveled path to the creek tor som accidental distraction. Trail marking was clear the whole way though. Not many peeps.

Solid trail. The first mile is just a stroll in the woods, but from then it gets interesting with rock faces, bluffs, and several water features (I went the day after a good rain, so I had some waterfalls) besides the Branch. Minor stretches of technical hiking over some rocky and slippery areas, and be prepared for a moderate climb back out. Overall, gentle, pleasant, and pretty.
